![Get Excited for the next Tesla Roadster](https://www.imcgrupo.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Get-.png)
Back in 2008, our very own real-life Tony Stark i.e., Elon Musk came out with the first-ever Tesla product in the form of the OG Tesla Roadster and shook the foundation of the automotive industry. Although the original Roadster didn’t manage to create the amount of buzz that the later Tesla models were able to, still it started the chain reaction that has resulted in the success of Tesla as an automaker. The fact that an EV sports car was able to accomplish 245 miles of range on a single chargeback in 2008 was monumental. Even though the original Roadster was built on the Lotus Elise, it was a wildly different product that delivered performance from a realm that people didn’t even know existed. 3.7 Seconds was all it took for the OG Roadster to propel itself from 0 to 60 mph and we can all agree that it is extremely fast even by today’s standards. The Original Roadster will always be the product that started a revolution, and its importance is evident enough from the fact that Elon Musk chose a Roadster to be shot into orbit by the Falcon Heavy Rocket to mark a milestone in the journey of mankind.
It shouldn’t then come as a shock that the entire automotive community was taken aback when in 2017, Tesla introduced the second generation of the Roadster in its concept avatar that had performance figure claims that would knock the socks off everything on the road right now. The 2021 Roadster didn’t just send a splash on its arrival but delivered a giant ripple through the very fabric of the automotive world. With claims that targeted a 1.9 second 0-60 time, an 8.8-second quarter-mile run, and a top speed of 250+ mph, people exclaimed with disbelief but since we have already seen the updated Tesla Model S Plaid+ doing sub 2 second 60 mph runs, we would put our faith in Tesla delivering on their promises. The 2021 Roadster might just be the most hyped product right now and the long string of continuous delays in production have only made the audience even more anxious.
If we are to talk about how gorgeous the exterior of the new Roadster concept looks, we would certainly need some tissue paper and lotion because boy oh boy is the Roadster a looker. The minimalist exterior silhouette looks mean beyond belief and the lack of a grille due to it being an EV makes it all the more aggressive. The Roadster is expected to turn up with a 200 kWh battery that should keep it juiced up for almost 620 miles of granny driving but let’s be real, who is going to hold themselves back behind the wheel of a vehicle that can slow down Earth’s rotation? The extremely fast charging that is already present on current Tesla vehicles might just be turned up to 11 in the upcoming Roadster, and we don’t even know how much more efficient can Tesla make the charging process.
We expect the interiors of the Roadster to have a similar ethos of minimalism about it as is the norm with all Tesla products at the moment. A removable glass roof panel that can be stowed in the trunk makes every Roadster a “Convertible” which should already have been apparent from the name while the classic humongous touch screen should also see a return. Although a lot of final details on the upcoming Roadster are yet to be revealed, we can definitely expect Tesla to showcase all of its might when it comes to the Roadster as it would serve as their Flagship vehicle after its debut. The lack of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in all of its products is still a reality and we don’t expect it to change with the arrival of the Roadster as Tesla believes that their In-Car Infotainment is far superior to such solutions. The Autonomous capabilities of the Roadster also carry a big question mark against itself as consumers would expect distinct Autonomy features on offer that would at least distinguish the Roadster from something like the Tesla Model 3 Autopilot.
Elon Musk has boldly made claims that even topple the ones that we have already stated such as the Roadster being able to develop 10,000 Newton Metres of Torque and also being available with a ridiculously unbelievable SpaceX Option. What the SpaceX Add-on entails is a set of 10 small rocket thrusters placed around the vehicle that would be powered by an additional battery and aid in the driving dynamics of the Roadster by improving Acceleration, Braking, and Cornering. There was also a slight hint by Mr. Musk towards some sort of hovering capabilities and their Test Driver Emile Bouret has consistently termed all performance numbers as “Conservative”. All this mumbo jumbo around the Roadster makes it clear as to why is there such a great hustle bustle around its launch and the claims that have been made by Tesla are nothing short of unbelievable.
With a price tag that is supposed to start from $200,000, the Roadster isn’t going to be a highly accessible product, but the amount of performance and features that Tesla promises that the Roadster would feature might just make it the bargain of the century!
Although the current crop of successful products by Tesla has pushed the debut of the Roadster to a later date as Elon Musk wants the Roadster to be a “Dessert”, it has become a nail-biting affair for many as the Roadster has made claims that are beyond Bold and the world waits for it to fulfill its promises. If we are to analyze the track record of Tesla as a manufacturer, we can all agree that they have consistently been able to deliver on their audacious claims and continued to not only innovate with their products but completely reinvent the entire industry and forced a shift towards the technology that is EV’s. The Tesla Roadster 2.0 might just be a revolutionary product that would have us completely rewire our minds as to how we perceive performance but up until it is present in front of us in its flesh, we would definitely reserve our judgments and take all announcements with a pinch of salt.
We are still excited beyond belief for this phenomenon of a vehicle to debut though!
