iPhone Tips and Tricks: How to Love your New Phone

If you’ve recently purchased a new iPhone, such as the iPhone 13 or 12, then there’s a big checklist that you need to tick off. Newer iPhone models are interesting devices with lots of different features, so it’s essential that you get the most out of yours. Remember, value for money is important.

So, whether you’re an iPhone rookie or someone who’s been around since the days of the first iPhone, here are some tips and tricks for you to try straight away.

Bookmark Your Favorite Games and Websites

The default browser on iPhone is Safari. It’s fast, efficient, and reliable – basically, everything you expect from a mobile browser.

However, a lot of people don’t know that you can bookmark your favorite games and websites through Safari. All you need to do is visit your desired website, tap the share button in the corner, and then choose ‘Add Bookmark’. After doing this, your chosen websites will then show up on the Safari homepage.

If you want some new games to bookmark, try this site that offers online poker USA. It’s perfect for mature adults who want an alternative to puzzle and action mobile games.

Setup Face ID

Every iPhone from the iPhone X onwards (excluding the iPhone SE 2020) has the Face ID feature on it. This is great for people who want an extra layer of security on their iPhones.

To set it up, go to:

  • Settings
  • Face ID and Passcode
  • Set up Face ID

From there, your iPhone will scan your face from all angles and save it in your database. This way, you’ll be able to unlock your iPhone by simply looking at it. Say bye-bye to manually entering passcodes!

Activate Back Tap

Did you know you can literally tap the back of your iPhone with your finger to perform certain tasks such as screenshotting?

Go to the ‘accessibility settings’, ‘touch’, and then ‘Back Tap’. From there, you can choose which commands you want it to trigger.

Turn on 4K Video Capture

There’s a list of options for you to play around within your camera settings. When it comes to the video capture option, make sure to select 4K. By doing this, all of your future videos will be captured in 4K, ultra-HD quality. If you’re someone who likes to capture a lot of content when you’re out traveling and socializing, then this is perfect for you.

The slight downside is that 4K videos take up more memory space. However, if this becomes an issue for you, you can upgrade your iCloud storage space.

Play with Widgets

Over the past couple of years, Apple has finally released customizable widgets to iPhones. Finally, iPhone users no longer have to use the default stock icons and can instead use widgets consisting of different sizes and styles.

To see which widgets you can use, hold down your home screen, wait until it shakes, and then tap the ‘+’ icon in the top right corner. From there, you can add and customize all the widgets you want to.
