X most popular TV shows you must watch this summer

Any current television series qualifies for the Power Rankings, whether it’s a news program, comedy, drama, anime, animated series, or sports event. There can be a new episode available on basic cable, a network, premium channel, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, YouTube or any other streaming service you can access on your smart TV, as long as it was released within the past week (ending Sunday) -or, in the case of all-at-once releases, within the previous four weeks.

If you like watching TV the conventional way, do not cut the cord and look for affordable cable TV deals to keep the party going. If you are looking for suggestions, you can check Grande offers and deals by clicking here.

Anyway, below are our top three picks for those in favor of streaming video services:

Candy

A Texas housewife named Candy Montgomery played by Jessica Biel murdered her frenemy Betty Gore played by Melanie Lynskey. She stroke her 41 times with an ax on June 13, 1980. The five-part Hulu miniseries attempts to unravel this violent tragedy. Candy is a nostalgic look back at the 1980s. However, the nastiness of suburban moms is undying, regardless of what fashions and styles come and go. The moms at her church group like Candy. Betty is not liked and she is ostracized. Betty isn’t part of the crowd, despite the fact that she attends the same church as her moms.

You’ll have to watch the movie to find out what happens next. Candy’s accent, permed hairstyle, and oversized glasses conceal Biel, who also serves as executive producer on the show. Candy’s panicky moments show how deeply denial she is about what she has done. Candy wants everything to get back to routine but does not seem to fully understand that it isn’t possible.

Lynskey is the best at handling an insecure woman who feels ignored and overlooked. It is clear that she is simmering with rage just beneath the surface. The final scene features the plaintive expressions of Lynskey even when she does not speak.

When Candy stopped by to pick up a bathing suit, she came into conflict with another woman and what really happened on that critical day only they know for sure. It will be up to Betty to explain what happened and for the police and prosecutor to investigate. A crime of this magnitude can never really be explained. Most likely not. Even down to the kicker of the final line, there are more questions than answers in the series.

The Lincoln Lawyer

Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer jumps from one tightly packed thrill ride to another as we follow L.A.’s best criminal defense attorney, Mickey Haller played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, as he faces both emotional and literal trials. If not the full power of Paste’s Bosch, then at least the Connelly playbook. That being said, don’t expect anything similar in aesthetics. As much froth as it is high-level crime, The Lincoln Lawyer features Ally McBeal creator David E. Kelley and The Good Wife showrunner Ted Humphrey. Therefore, while Harry Bosch is part of a sun-drenched noir, Mickey Haller is largely sun-drenched as well.

The balance is generally good. Its aim is to be more of a prestige show than a primetime show. However, given the four main plot arcs and all the interpersonal ones, it can sometimes be a bit too stretched. It’s a smart casting, a solid performance, and there are many parallels moral (and musical) with Bosch. There are plenty of reasons to watch this movie, whether you’re a Connelly fan or new to her.

The Wilds

Despite its meandering stranded-teen mystery’s first season’s challenge of getting audiences invested in nine very different young women, the series also challenged us to keep track of their tumultuous, emotionally intricate journeys over three different time frames. In addition to that, it needed to provide enough clues about Gretchen Klein’s sociopathic plot to keep us engaged throughout her maze of machinations over the course of 10 increasingly convoluted episodes, without slipping so few that we might just give up. Isn’t it amazing that Sarah Streicher and her team were able to pull it off? They are magicians.

No matter what Gretchen puts “her boys” through, you will not be resentful of all the narrative parallels to the first season. As it turns out, The Wilds benefitting this season from dipping into its familiar narrative waters is that all that familiarity gives viewers a rock-solid framework to hold onto as they work to make sense of what is now an even more complicated game of cat-and-mouse.

However, I should warn you that the season ends on a cliffhanger. What it means is that a Season 3 pickup is right around the corner (we hope).
