How to Look Your Best on a Daily Basis

If you want to look good on a daily basis, you have to put in the work. And we’re not talking about layering on extra makeup or popping a bunch of anti-aging drugs. We’re talking about actually taking care of your mind and body so that it’s healthy and happy.

6 Tips for Looking Young, Healthy, and Happy

Aging is a natural part of human biology. But have you ever noticed how some people seem to age much slower than others?

You can have two people who are both 55 years old standing next to each other, and one looks 40 while the other looks 70. How is this possible? Is it all genetics, or do you have more control over how you age?

Believe it or not, genetics only play a small role in the aging process. If you act quickly and make smart, healthy decisions, you can continue to look younger (even as you age). Here are several suggestions:

1. Kill Stress

Stress doesn’t just make people feel old, it actually speeds up the process of aging. Studies show that stress adds years to the age of individual cells within your immune system. It also leads to the rapid shortening of telomeres (the caps on the end of chromosomes). As telomeres shorten, the clock ticks. When a telomere becomes too short, the time runs out and the cell is no longer capable of dividing and replenishing.

The good news is that with proper stress management, you can slow down the shortening of telomeres and preserve your health. Not only will you look younger, but you can also prevent the onset of chronic illnesses and diseases like Alzheimer’s.

2. Avoid Fast Food

As tasty as a fast food burger is – and as convenient as a frozen pizza might be – an over-reliance on highly-processed foods isn’t doing your body any favors. Researchers have actually found that eating three or more daily servings of processed foods is linked to shorter telomeres.

If you’re not supposed to eat processed foods, what do you eat? The same researchers have found that a Mediterranean diet that’s rich in plants and whole foods is linked to much longer telomeres and a lower risk of chronic disease.

3. Get More Sleep

In order to further slow down the appearance of aging and give your body the fuel it needs to look healthy and vibrant, try getting more sleep. If you’re getting less than six hours, doctors say it’s impacting your appearance. You need to bump your nightly sleep into the seven to nine hours category. Do this and you’ll notice visible improvement in a matter of weeks.

4. Fight Back Against Hair Loss

Hair loss is one of the telltale signs of aging. It impacts tens of millions of men and women on an annual basis. Thankfully, there are ways to fight back without having an invasive surgical procedure. In fact, you might not even need medication. The solution? Something called low level laser therapy (LLLT).

LLLT is administered via a laser hair cap, such as the Kiierr 272 Premier MD, which uses safe, FDA-cleared cold laser technology to rejuvenate hair follicles and jumpstart the hair growth process. You simply put the cap on at home for half an hour per day and it does all the work for you.

5. Moisturize on the Daily

Your skin says a lot about you. If it’s thin, wrinkly, dry, and weathered, you’re going to look older than you really are. But if it looks vibrant and smooth, you’ll appear young and healthy. One way to achieve healthy skin is by applying a moisturizing product on a daily basis. (For best results, look for one that also has sunscreen.)

6. Whiten Your Teeth Naturally

White teeth make you look young and healthy. The problem is that, left alone, tooth enamel fades over time. You can prevent yellow teeth and encourage whiter enamel by limiting your intake of drinks that stain (coffee, tea, wine, etc.) and using a safe teeth whitening product that strengthens your enamel.

Put Your Best Looks Forward

Looks aren’t everything – and you can certainly be happy even as you develop wrinkles, lose hair, and your age starts to show. However, if you’re willing to integrate a few of these healthy habits and tips into your daily routine, you can slow down the physical signs of aging and continue to look younger longer. If that’s something you’re interested in, then we encourage you to begin implementing these ideas as soon as possible!
