Tech Tips for a Smooth Sports Game Streaming Experience

Don’t make the mistake of being unprepared when you’re about to watch a live sports game in your home. If you want smooth and seamless entertainment from start to finish, then you should do these five tech tips for maximum enjoyment. The good news is that each point only takes a few minutes and does not require any investment.

Use a Wired Connection If Possible

A wired connection is the best option if you want to stream your favorite game without any lag or buffering. For sports teams like Manchester City and when a bet is on the line, you can invest in a LAN cable and attach it from the router to a supported device.

Remove All Background Apps or Software

Your streaming device should have all its hardware focused on streaming and delivering smooth game-watching without any apps or software running in the background. This could be as simple as swiping on all the apps on a smartphone, or calling up the task manager and removing programs on a computer.

Reset the Router

Resetting a router is fairly simple. First, locate the router and find the power button. Then, press the button once to turn it off, or just unplug it from the wall socket. Wait for a minute, then plug the power cable back in, or press the power button again.

Check Connection Speed

Open a web browser from your phone or laptop and check your home wi-fi’s connection speed. A good streaming performance should be around 25 Mbps minimum, and more if you intend to watch high-resolution content.

Set to the Best Video Resolution

For smooth and enjoyable sports games, you should set the resolution to as high as your internet connection and device will allow. 4K resolution should be enough to see all the details of the game.
