If you’re in the market for something that allows you to watch unlimited channels, look no further than an aerial.
Installation is fairly easy, but you’ll be presented with 3 aerial options for your home or business- an indoor TV aerial, outdoor TV aerial and a loft TV aerial.
The question is, how will you know which one is best for you? Let’s take a look at each one and determine the pros and cons.
Loft TV Aerial
This type of aerial is usually installed at the top of the house, such as the attic. It’s recommended that you plan the position of the hardware first to ensure you get the best signal and won’t have to go up every time there’s a signal disruption.
Loft types are easier to install as you won’t need to climb to the roof, and because they’re not exposed to the elements they tend to last longer. The overall signal is weaker and it’s not recommended for homes with metal roofing.
Outdoor TV Aerial
It’s been said that outdoor aerials take up the most work as they have to be installed outside, usually on the roof. Carefully adhere to the safety rules or find a professional that can do it for you.
Once it’s set, you can look forward to getting a strong, steady signal and picture quality. It’s more expensive though, and the aerial TV installer will need to drill holes and put in coax cables.
Indoor TV Aerial
Perhaps the simplest of the three. All you need to do is plug the coax cable into the TV and set the aerial atop the TV to get a picture. If the programming is fuzzy you can try adjusting the aerial or moving its position.
Cost of setup is minimal and the aerial isn’t subject to outdoor environments. The only downsides are reception and weak signal areas.
